The Radio Volunteer Club of Thailand (RVCT) is a national volunteer network organization with a mission to apply communication technology to support public service initiatives. Rooted in a gathering of online communication system users, it eventually elevated its structure to become a volunteer radio center meeting international standards. The Beginning and Formation of the Network (2020 - 2021) - 2020 The network was initiated on October 16 under the name "Amateur Zello Club." It emerged from a gathering of individuals interested in Push-to-Talk (PTT) communication technology via the Zello application. Its main advantage was simulating a two-way radio on a smartphone, making it easily accessible without relying on complex repeater station hardware. In the initial phase, the focus was solely on signal testing and knowledge exchange. - 2021 As the group expanded and developed a clear direction toward serving the public interest, the name was changed to "Volunteer Zello Club" on March 22. Under the leadership of its founder, Mr. Panuwat Thammawongsa, who played a crucial role in initiating and developing the club in its early stages, this marked a complete transition into a full-fledged volunteer network. It served as a primary tool for coordinating rescue operations, disseminating news, and assisting society. Management System Development and Network Expansion (2024) As membership grew to cover multiple areas, the club implemented standardized management systems. Call signs and identification numbers were assigned to ensure that emergency communications were swift and verifiable. In November 2024, the club's regulations were officially promulgated, alongside an expansion of technological capabilities to seamlessly connect communications across all dimensions. Organizational Elevation (2026) With a broader scope of work, the network required a universal structure to support collaboration with other communication platforms nationwide. On June 27, 2026, a special meeting was convened, resulting in a unanimous resolution to dissolve the former "Volunteer Zello Club" structure to elevate its status and officially establish the newly formed organization under the name "Radio Volunteer Club of Thailand" (RVCT). During this historic transition, Phra Sarawut Thirasattho (Saengthep) was entrusted to serve as the first president of the club. His role is to drive the organization's direction, leading members and volunteer networks across the country into a new era of sustainable communication for public benefit. From a small beginning of technology enthusiasts to becoming a national volunteer network today, the development of RVCT reflects a relentless effort to integrate technology with the ideology of self-sacrifice. This is driven by their core philosophy: "Good communication not only allows people to connect, but it must also be a powerful force that unites individuals to sustainably co-create society."
